The Inn

This Cape Cod built in 1951 features 4 bedrooms and can sleep up to 10 with the additional Queen size sofa bed. Our family friendly home offers a a full kitchen, beautiful wood floors, Wireless Internet, Basic Cable TV, DVD player, attached garage and two patio's. Enjoy our basement rec room with a pool table, ping pong table, foosball table and huge blackboard for the kids.

Meet the Owners

Tanya Walker and Melodi Walker McKeighan invite you to enjoy and explore our hometown where "You're a Stranger Only Once"! We feel very fortunate to have grown up in small town America and enjoy the many amenities our village has to offer. You can walk or bike ride within minutes to the fair, fireworks, restaurants, schools, parks and downtown. You can also relax on the back patio or play pool or ping pong in our basement rec room. Built in 1951, we have called this "home" since 1968. It still retains it's beautiful woodwork, mid-century modern styling, arched doorways and many unique built-ins. Even though we don't currently live in Arthur, we come back many times throughout the year to visit friends, family and enjoy the festivals. It is and always will be "home"!

The Amish

Arthur is home to the largest Amish settlement in Illinois. It is seventh largest in the United States and does not have the commercialism associated with it that you might find in Pennsylvania, Indiana and Ohio. Please note that many local shops and all Amish businesses are closed on Sundays. The Amish also observe and are closed on Ascension Day, Epiphany, and Good Friday. Because the Amish drive slow moving buggies, ride bicycles, and often walk our roads please exercise caution when driving.

Most of State Route 133 from Arcola to Arthur and on to Lovington have wide shoulders, which are buggy lanes. The Amish travel on all roads except the interstates. In other words stay alert- especially at night. While all buggies are equipped with caution lights, it is easy to mistake them for a car when approaching from behind.
